Till Divorce Do Us Part

I now pronounce thee divorced. Now that you're divorced, you have a couple of options to deal with it. You can either cry and eat several pints of ice cream or you can throw a WILD party. What better way to celebrate your freedom from the patriarchy than having an entire spring break in a day?

We understand that going through a divorce can be difficult no matter how amicable. Even so, we encourage you to take your independence back and feel empowered about being newly single! Get all your besties together and have a blast. You might even be able to play your newly divorced card to con your friends into planning the party for you. We fully support you in that. Here's some ideas you can give your friends when they get to planning!

Pin the Tail on the Ex

We would like to preface that we do not condone violence. However, it is important that you get to feel all your feels and take them out on the responsible parties. Stabbing a photo of your ex multiple times sounds like the perfect way to get rid of those residual feelings! You can keep spirits up with other fun games as well. Some non-violent alternatives could be karaoke, ditch the dress/suit, or build a man/woman where you build your perfect partner to be reminded of all the ways your ex sucks. Let those sink in when you're tempted to text them at 2 am. Don't do it bestie.

Break up and Break Down

Get over it Grey's Anatomy style and simply dance it out. You just can't cry while having a dance party and if you still are that's okay, we won't judge you. Really have fun with this one! Have a specific theme, wear costumes, break out the glow sticks, anything that makes your heart happy. The only requirement is that you HAVE to dance.

Boozy Bachelor/Bachelorette: The Sequel

A divorce may have you wishing you could travel

back in time to all the pre-wedding parties when you didn't have too many worries and were drunk all the time. We're no Marty McFly, but we can help you get that feeling back. Throw a second bachelor/bachelorette party, but this time you're getting out of marriage instead of getting in it. You can put a fun twist on this if you intend to have a smaller gathering and have all of the guests make a signature cocktail. Every drink has to have a divorce-themed name and you can even turn it into a competition! Get spicy with some adult entertainment and those fun straws (you know the ones). This will probably be a more appropriate time to enjoy such pleasures.

We hope you enjoy your new single life and if you're sad we hope a party helps you feel better. No matter what you do after your divorce, just make sure it clears your heart and your head! Putting a positive spin on a major life event does no harm. Best of luck to you, bestie!
